Collaboration with conductor Peter Dijkstra extended

We are thrilled! Thrilled that our chief conductor, Peter Dijkstra, signed on last night for another three years, until the end of 2028, with an option for an additional two years. Dijkstra is one of the most sought-after choral conductors of our time. In addition to guest appearances with the likes of the RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin, the BBC Singers, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, he serves as the artistic director of the Bavarian Radio Choir. With the Netherlands Chamber Choir, he has toured in countries such as China, Australia, and the United States. Dijkstra is, after founder Felix de Nobel, the longest-serving chief conductor of the Netherlands Chamber Choir. His renewed appointment also means he will lead the choir through its 90th anniversary in 2027.

Peter Dijkstra says: Never change a winning team. What I’ve been able to achieve with this fantastic group of singers makes stepping onto the stage an incredible joy every single time. We’ve built something that resonates internationally. I am truly excited to continue this journey together.”

Tido Visser, Artistic Director of the Netherlands Chamber Choir: “This extension not only seals what has been an exceptionally successful collaboration so far. It is also a testament to mutual trust and an immense enthusiasm to continue on this shared path. In these fleeting times, continuity has become a rare and valuable asset. Being able to build a substantial history with Peter is truly wonderful.”
